Uncle Dom's Kitchen

A Powerful Elixir to aid in fighting the Winter Elements,

and boosting your immune system.

Using Organic Root Vegetables, pickled and aged in Vinegar and then masticated into pure juice, Savage Brew contains all the medicinal values of what I call the Superb Six:

Onion / Garlic / Ginger / Horseradish / Jalapeno / Turmeric

The result is an elixir rich in flavor (similar to a spicy vinagrette) and strong enough to battle viruses and the symptoms that accompany them. Because of the aged pickling, the brew is calm on the stomach and aids in digestion, reducing inflammation, as well as other medically-documented effects from the qualities of these ingredients.

*(Cancer patients are often recommended these foods to aid in immune boosting, reducing inflammation.)

Garlic – Scientists proclaim “Prophylactic use of garlic may decrease the frequency of colds in adults”

-Garlic contains the compound Diallyl sulfide, which is 100 times more effective than two popular antibiotics in fighting the Campylobacter bacterium, according to a study published in the Journal of Antimicrobial Chemotherapy. The Campylobacter bacterium is one of the most common causes of intestinal infections.

-According to the National Library of Medicine3, part of the NIH (National Institutes of Health), USA, garlic is widely used for several conditions linked to the blood system and heart, including atherosclerosis (hardening of the arteries), high cholesterol, heart attack, coronary heart disease and hypertension.

Onion is used for treating digestion problems including loss of appetite, upset stomach, and gallbladder disorders; for treating heart and blood vessel problems including chest pain (angina) and high blood pressure; and for preventing “hardening of the arteries” (atherosclerosis). It is also used for treating sore mouth and throat, whooping cough, bronchitis, asthma, dehydration, intestinal gas, parasitic worms, and diabetes. Some people use it as a diuretic to increase urine output.

Ginger is known in aiding in digestive and GI health, and can help with nausea. I is pain reliever, an anti-inflammatory and antioxidant, good source of Potassium and Magnesium, Clears “microcirculatory channels” of the body, including sinuses, throat, and nose congestion.

Horseradish is used for nasal swelling,  urinary tract infections, kidney stones, fluid retention, cough, bronchitis, achy joints (rheumatism), gallbladder disorders, sciatic nerve pain, gout, colic, and intestinal worms in children.

Jalapenos-One serving contains 66 percent of vitamin C. Vitamin C could stimulate the immune system to produce white blood cells, which are the body’s first main line of defense against illness.

-Jalapenos contain vitamin C to fight free radicals that can help prevent the mutation of healthy cells into cancer cells.

-Studies have suggested that jalapeno peppers may provide pain relief for migraine headaches. Capsaicin is known to inhibit a key neuropeptide, Substance P, which is the key brain pain transmitter.

-Capsaicin is a potent anti-inflammatory agent. It inhibits Substance P, which is associated with inflammatory processes. Capsaicin could treat arthritis, psoriasis, and diabetic neuropathy one day.

-Jalapenos provide the brain the necessary amino acids, vitamins, and minerals. Some vitamins, including folate or folic acid, play a significant role in the regulation of specific amino acids that the nervous system requires. Studies have shown that a deficient amount of dietary folate can increase the homocysteine levels, which can be a dangerous precursor to neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer’s disease and Parkinson’s disease.

Turmeric is a know anti-inflammatory and is used for arthritis, heartburn (dyspepsia), stomach pain, diarrhea, intestinal gas, stomachbloating, loss of appetite, jaundice, liver problems and gallbladder disorders.

It is also used for headaches, bronchitis, colds, lung infections, fibromyalgia, leprosy, fever, menstrual problems, and cancer. Other uses include depression, Alzheimer’s disease, water retention, worms, and kidney problems.
Some people apply turmeric to the skin for pain, ringworm, bruising, leech bites, eye infections, inflammatory skin conditions, soreness inside of the mouth, and infected wounds.
